Holdem Manager

Holdem Manager is a fully featured hand history program that provides stats on yourself and your opponents. It comes loaded with a customizable Heads-Up Display and has add-ons available like a tool to track Omaha hands, a module called Leak Buster, a table selector and a tool to track Omaha hands. Holdem Manager is very versatile and is packed with hundreds of game play statistics to analyze, graphing features, and tons of filters for any conceivable scenario. This is hands down one of the best pieces of poker software available.

If you're planning on taking your poker seriously and want to have every tool at your disposal then Holdem Manager is defintely for you.

Holdem Manager is quickly becoming one of the most popular pieces of software for online poker players for a good reason. Holdem Manager is a well oiled machine and it's fully featured, with constant updates and improvements. The program imports hand history text files from all of the major online poker rooms and compiles them into a PostgreSQL database. From there, it can provide multi-layered reports based on any situation or scenario thanks to the innumerable number of features packed in.

Within the Heads-Up Display (HUD) Options dropdown menu are all of the things to make your HUD exactly what you desire. There are hundreds of stats you can put into your HUD and you can even configure multiple ones to come up for certain situations. For example, you can have an HUD for full ring play on PokerStars and a completely different setup automatically come up when you play six-max tournaments on Everest Poker. When you click on the HUD overlay for yourself or a villain, you'll be given a stat dialog box with supplemental information to view. If you double click on the overlay, it goes into "red mode," which means it gives you stats for that specific session only. All things considered, the HUD is extremely powerful and definitely one of the highlights of the program.

There are two main tabs for running reports to see results and stats:
Cash Games and Tournaments. Within the Cash Games tab are six sub-tabs:
Reports, Preflop Cards, Hands, Sessions, Graphs, and vs Players. Each one of these tabs gives different information, with the crux of the results coming from the Reports tab. Within that area, there are different reports to run, including By Stakes, Hand at Showdown, Hole Cards, Overall, Position, and More. Each of these reports gives fantastic insight into your play.

You can couple this with filters by date range or just about any conceivable poker scenario you can think of. For example, let's say you wanted to know your results in 3bet pots where you flopped a set for a particular week during the year. That's 100% possible and easy to do within the Reports tab.

Holdem Manager also offers some really nice graphing capabilities with their software. Here is what you can expect from the graphing feature:

If you need to review your session, you can plug your hand histories into a replayer to try find your leaks. The hand replayer looks like this:

The Tourney tab is where all of the tournament information will be stored. In this section, there are four sub-tabs: Results, Reports, Preflop Cards, and Hands. The Results area has plenty of filters and shows data like ROI, ITM, winnings, time played, $/hr, and average buy-in. Within the Results tab are four more sections: Stats, Data View, Graph, and Trending. There's a ton to see and do within this tab, so tournament players should be quite pleased with what they get from Holdem Manager.

The Players tab is perhaps the most underrated feature of Holdem Manager. This is where you can set up specific filters to display all players who fit the categories you set up. For example, you can enter in Cash Games, No Limit, $0.50/$1 level, number of players between 7 and 10, a specific date range, and a minimum number of hands on a specific site. Once you hit "Run Report," Holdem Manager will bring up players who fit the model you've set up.

Then, within the Player Summary area, you will get a detailed report on every player and you can bring up a special Player Detail Window, which will give you a total player analysis. From this analysis, you can make notes on player trends based on perceived leaks or strengths. This gives you a huge informational advantage when playing against regulars at the tables.

Holdem Manager also has some nice add-ons in the form of Omaha Manager (which provides the ability to track and report for any Omaha game), Table Scanner (which scans tables to find the juiciest ones), and Leak Buster (which analyzes your game to find leaks). These add-ons require an extra fee.

Overall, Holdem Manager is a fantastic hand history tracking utility that comes fully featured for all types of poker players. Whether you are just starting out and buy the Small-Stakes edition or are a soul-crushing regular using the Professional edition, Holdem Manager will be a positive addition to your poker software library.
